It features couples and parents like Nia and Katie, who were expelled from their church, and Mario and Monte, a gay Black couple raising their daughter, highlighting issues faced in regions typically underrepresented in media.

We sit down with Kansas City–based composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer Adee Dancy, better known as SISTERBOT! Sisterbot explores themes of self‑love, queerness, gratitude, trauma processing, and cosmic identity through episodic, narrative songwriting. Their work aims to be an invitation to audiences to embrace authenticity and shared vulnerability. Sisterbot is the genre-defying music project led by Kansas City composer and cellist Adee Dancy. Originally performing solo under the name Adee Rocket Dancy, they shifted to the name Sisterbot in 2021 just before releasing their debut album Truth House—a cathartic, concept-driven collection exploring trauma, rebirth, and identity.
